Distance by Road: Routes and Tolls

Travelling from Bangalore to Nelamangala by road is the most popular choice because of the direct connectivity provided by National Highway 48 (NH-48), also known by its old name, NH-4. Here is a detailed breakdown of the routes and toll costs in 2026.

  • Primary Route: via NH-48 (Tumakuru Road)

This road is the main route for most travellers starting from central or north Bangalore.

  • Path: The journey starts at Yesvantpur or Goraguntepalya, goes through the Peenya Industrial Area and the Madavara (BIEC) Metro station, and ends at Nelamangala town.
  • Road Condition: The road is a wide 6-lane highway. There are two options:
  • Elevated Expressway: Faster, avoids traffic.
  • Service Road: Free, but slower because of traffic signals and trucks.
  • Travel Time: About 25–35 minutes on the elevated road, and 50–60 minutes on the service road.
  • Secondary Route: via STRR (Satellite Town Ring Road)

For people coming from Doddaballapur or Hoskote, the new STRR (NH-648) road goes to Nelamangala without going through Bangalore city traffic. This road is very good for long trips and for trucks.
